Our system will go a long way to improving the nature of public decision making in New Zealand, helping it evolve from the domain of authorities only, to it being a shared process involving citizens.
It involves authorities and it involves all citizens to deliver what the country, regions, towns, cities, suburbs and streets need. For authorities it means easier management of the entire public consultation process so they can focus more on getting things done than managing the public consultation process. It means the public can learn more about the public decision making process and contribute more meaningfully to it.
For citizens it means a place to go to:
VOTE: Citizens can go to our website and vote on any number of ideas and initiatives during the consultation phase, from things in their street, all the way to national level decisions.
ASK QUESTIONS: Citizens can ask questions about ideas, projects. They can voice concerns and have those concerns responded to by others and the authority charged with delivering the project
SUBMIT IDEAS: Citizens can come up with ideas of their own and gain support for those ideas.
LEARN: Citizens will learn more about the components of public decision making so they have the knowledge of what is involved.
There are many significant components to this system. Its designed to be as easy and intuitive as possible for those who are time poor or prefer things to presented simply and without complication.. but at the same time behind the scenes contain all the components necessary to delivery power for citizens.
The system itself is highly modular and will be modified to suit the needs of New Zealanders as it evolves.
